Public-private partnerships have long powered U.S. innovation—from semiconductors to the internet to GPS. That tradition continues through the Small Business Investment Company Critical Technology (SBICCT) Initiative, launched in 2022 by the Department of Defense and Small Business Administration. New North Ventures was selected in the program’s first cohort—one of thirteen funds representing $2.8B in planned capital deployment across 1,000+ companies.

We participate in this initiative because we understand both sides of the equation—how to navigate SBA licensing, DoD procurement, and structure investments that leverage the government guarantee. Our position within the SBICCT network helps accelerate innovation that strengthens national security, enhances economic resilience, and drives enduring technological advantage.
